How to Switch from Zoho Bookings to Schedly
Zoho Bookings delivers most of its value when you're fully committed to the Zoho ecosystem. If you're not using Zoho CRM, Zoho Campaigns, and Zoho Meeting, you're getting a fraction of the value. Schedly works as a complete standalone scheduling platform with the tools you already use — Google Calendar, Stripe, Zoom.
Complete migration guide
Follow these steps in order. Each takes 2–5 minutes.
Create your Schedly account
Sign up at schedly.io — free with no credit card required.
Schedly's free plan covers all core scheduling needs without ecosystem requirements.
Note your Zoho Bookings service configuration
In Zoho Bookings, review your services: names, durations, availability settings, and intake questions. You'll recreate these in Schedly.
Screenshot your Zoho Bookings settings for reference during recreation.
Connect Google Calendar or Outlook
Connect your primary calendar to Schedly. Unlike Zoho Bookings' deep integration with Zoho Calendar, Schedly works equally well with Google Calendar and Outlook.
If you use both Google and Zoho calendars, connecting Google Calendar gives Schedly complete availability visibility.
Recreate services as event types
Create a Schedly event type for each Zoho Bookings service. Set duration, buffer time, location, and availability restrictions.
Unlimited event types on Schedly free — no plan limitations on service count.
Set up Stripe for payments (Pro)
If you collect payment through Zoho Bookings, connect Stripe to Schedly Pro. Stripe gives you more payment processing flexibility than Zoho's payment infrastructure.
Stripe's dashboard is more powerful for tracking payment history and managing refunds than Zoho's payment interface.
Configure reminders and test
Set up email reminders. Test a booking end-to-end before updating any links.
Upgrade to Schedly Pro for SMS reminders — significantly more effective than email-only for no-show prevention.
Update links and cancel Zoho Bookings
Replace all Zoho Bookings links with your Schedly link across your website, email, and social profiles. Cancel Zoho Bookings once all links are updated.
If your Zoho Bookings links are embedded in Zoho Campaigns email automations, update those before they send with the old link.

What you gain by switching to Schedly
No Zoho ecosystem dependency
Schedly works as a complete standalone product with Google Calendar, Outlook, Stripe, Zoom, and Zapier — without Zoho CRM, Zoho Meeting, or any other Zoho product.
Simpler admin experience
Schedly's admin interface is focused on scheduling. Zoho Bookings' admin involves Zoho-specific concepts that assume Zoho ecosystem familiarity.
Better standalone client experience
Schedly's client-facing booking pages are purpose-built for conversion. Zoho Bookings' pages are functional but show their Zoho heritage.
Lower cost for non-Zoho businesses
If you're not on Zoho's full suite, Schedly Pro at $24/month is typically equivalent or lower cost for the scheduling-specific feature set.
Watch out for these migration gotchas
Zoho CRM automation links
If you use Zoho CRM workflows that include Zoho Bookings links or triggers, update those automations when switching.
Export booking history
Export all historical booking data from Zoho Bookings before canceling your subscription.
Zoho Bookings vs Schedly: Ecosystem vs Standalone
Zoho Bookings is an integral part of Zoho's business software suite. When you're running Zoho CRM, Zoho Campaigns, Zoho Desk, and Zoho Meeting together, Bookings adds seamless scheduling without adding a new vendor. But when you're not on Zoho's suite, you're adopting ecosystem complexity to get scheduling functionality.
The Standalone Alternative
Schedly delivers the complete scheduling stack — calendar sync, reminders, intake forms, payment collection — without requiring any ecosystem adoption. Connect it to whatever tools you already use. For businesses that value tool independence over deep ecosystem integration, Schedly is the cleaner choice.
Maintaining Zoho CRM with Schedly
Businesses switching from Zoho Bookings to Schedly while keeping Zoho CRM can connect them via Zapier. New bookings in Schedly trigger Zaps that create or update contacts in Zoho CRM, maintain meeting records, and sync booking data. The integration isn't as native as Zoho Bookings, but it covers the essential data flows for most businesses.
